The art of using wire to form objects, most notably jewelry, has existed since the days of the Egyptian empires, more than 3000 years. There is no solder used in creating the jewelry. Wire comes in a great deal of metals: silver, gold, and copper are used the most in the art of jewelry making but aluminum, platinum, and steel (stainless) are popular as well. In this website you will find handmade wire jewelry, handmade chainmaille jewelry, and handmade beaded jewelry by the artist Thornton. We have included a section on fine arts listed within the links section.
